If You Like It Hot and Dry Outside, Eat Meat

It takes roughly 500 gallons of water to produce a quarter pound hamburger, and in the process, approximately six pounds of greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere.

By contrast, to produce a quarter pound tomato, it only takes 6 gallons of water and results in the emission of only four ounces of greenhouse gas.

So, if you like it hot and dry, eat meat.

To get the same calorific content as a quarter pound of beef you'd need a 5lb tomato.
